We can’t recommend the Metro games enough… Metro 2033 really raised the bar in the shooter genre, and 4A Games continues to do so. I dont remember if I do use any mods with this one, other than ReShade, but it's not really a mod, it's a cool little program.

PC gamers who own Last Light don’t need to upgrade to Last Light Redux. So on a whim, I decided to pick up the first Metro Redux game and holy in the name. The gun sounds in Redux are much better than the original imo. Any mod to re-add HUD/UI elements to Ranger Survival I would like to play with increased damage/decreased resources of Ranger Survival, but there's absolutely no way I'm going to slog through the game with all the UI elements haphazardly ripped out of it the developers simply didn't add functionality to the game to make. Tessellation is gone, ambient occlusion seems worse, we can’t really recommend it. There are no mods as this proprietary engine never had any SDK released. The graphics are good and shiny indeed, but you can slightly see how they're not very 3D-ish when getting this close, for example in the pic where Artyom is shooting at that mutant, you can see the leather-belt-strap thing on his shoulder looks stretched out and painted on.
